Your attendance is requested at the Edison DARE Graduation on Thursday, April 25th 5:30PM-6:30PM in the gym! This is a time to celebrate your child's accomplishment of the DARE program. Please mark your calendars! DARE t-shirts will be provided to each 5th grader for the graduation ceremony. These will be distributed the day of graduation and worn at the ceremony. We look forward to seeing you on the 25th.

Lincoln School will host a special author visit on Thurs. Apr. 25. Our guest will be Illinois author, Ms. Carolyn Crimi. She will present 2 programs throughout the day for the students and return at 6:00 for an evening program for students and parents. In preparation for her visit, the library is taking preorders for her books. The books, purchased through New Copperfields in Macomb, will be autographed by our special guest the day of her visit. Although preorders for her books would be recommended, a few copies will be available for purchase the night of the program. In conjunction with the Author Visit, Lincoln will also host a 2 day Book Fair. The fair will run April 24-25. The hours will be 4-8 PM both nights. THE BOOK FAIR WILL CLOSE FROM 5:45-7:00 ON THURS. NIGHT in order for everyone to enjoy Ms. Crimi’s evening program. The fair will reopen AFTER the program.

The color for the 1st Annual Adopt a Classroom Color Run is here! Have you registered for this community event yet? If not, call Lincoln School at 833-2095 for more information, or email Amy Morris at morrisa@mcusd185.org for a registration form. The 5K run/walk will take place on Saturday, April 27, at 9:00 a.m. and begin at Lincoln School. Children must be accompanied by an adult. You will get showered in colorful (washable) powder, so bring your sunglasses and wear your old shoes and old clothes. This fun event will end with a Zumba party and fruit and water! You can register the day of the event, but in order to get a t-shirt, you must pre-register by Friday, April 5th. We hope you will join us!

Join MacArthur's 1st Annual Trike-A-Thon on Friday, April 26th! Students are to ask friends and family to be "sponsors" and make a single donation to the MacArthur PTO. 100% of the profit goes to MacArthur's "Outdoor Learning Center." All students are invited, not required, to peddle during their class's 30-minute gross motor times and will receive a popsicle after the event.

Join MacArthur Early Childhood Center for our annual Gardening Days on April 30 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. We welcome any volunteers to help with raking, weeding, laying mulch, etc. Sign up at grandparents night or contact the office at 309-833-4273.
